Eight Peacemakers made the trip to Beloit, WI for the “Reckoning on the Rock” weekend match June 19-21. There were 77 shooters there. The weather cooperated wonderfully; both Friday and Saturday were sunny and pleasant. We watched the forecast for Sunday very carefully and were blessed with cloudy and a bit muggy conditions, without getting wet while shooting. The heavy rain was waiting for us as we crossed into Illinois after the match.
Father Fib not only won 3rd Place Senior, but won three raffle prizes to boot. Also, Wild Bunch (WB) 2nd Place Modern with a clean shoot.
Katie Twoshots won 2nd Place Grand Dame, shooting clean.
Re Peter won 1st Place El Rey.
Mackinaw Jack won 1st Place Classic Cowboy. Also, WB 5th Place Senior Modern.
Comstock Charley won 1st Place Cattle Baron Duelist. Also, WB 1st Place Senior Traditional.
Don Jorge won 1st Place Elder Statesmen, shooting clean. Also, WB 4th Place Senior Modern.
The plaque frames with barb wire decoration were made by the match director, Turkey Legs. Each laser-etched mirror was done by a member of their local club.
Overall a very good shoot, lots of fast cowboys & cowgirls. Next year Beloit will host the Wisconsin State Championship on the first weekend of June.
